Class policies
Enrol Early
Although you may join our classes at anytime, please enrol early since class sizes are limited and many fill quickly. Enrolling at least 3 weeks before the term begins also ensures that we will have your child’s materials ready for the first class.
A place can be secured (and materials ordered) with a deposit. The balance is required before the beginning of class.
If you need to pay in installments due to difficulty paying by lump sum then an agreed arrangement for this can be discussed.
Students enrolled by the Early Bird date will receive a discount.
Public Holidays & School Holidays
Classes do not take place on public holidays or during school holidays.
Sibling Discounts
If you enroll a second child you will receive a 10% discount off the second child’s tuition only.
To further reduce the cost, Sibling Kits are offered to parents with a second or third child in the same class. (Sibling Kits exclude At Home items that don’t need to be doubled up, such as a CD, or literature book.)
Non-enrolled Siblings
Due to limited class sizes and the delicacy of the younger class settings Village and Our Time classes can only accommodate non-enrolled siblings when the sibling is young enough to stay contented in a capsule or stroller. However, emergency situations are considered, so please call if we can help.
Missed Classes
There is no refund for a child missing a class. However a child who has missed a class due to illness may be able to get a free catch up class at a different location.
If a teacher is sick and a replacement teacher cannot be found, the class will be rescheduled.
Sick Children
If children are too sick to go to school or daycare they are too sick for Kindermusik. It is important the children with contagious conditions, such as chicken pox, are kept outside the classroom.
Grandparents and Other Visitors
Grandparents and other visitor are welcome to sit in the class. This should be arrangement with the teacher before hand.
What to Bring
We do request that toys and juice cups be kept out of sight and that snacks be finished prior to class. Be sure to dress comfortably.
Participation and Expectation for the Class
During class, the most important thing you can do for your child is to be an active and patient role model. It is not uncommon for a child to attend for several weeks before feeling comfortable in class. Don’t be discouraged – what a child is absorbing in class is often evidenced in the comfort of the home environment rather than in a certain level of participation in class. The understanding and consistency of the parent or caregiver in the class and at home are key to facilitating musical learning and growth.
You and your child will benefit enormously from the Kindermusik experience, especially if you make active use of your At Home Materials. Reinforcement and enjoyment of the Kindermusik materials make all the difference in a child’s comfort and security in the classroom.
